Vintage George Nathan Associates Screen Printed Sign

A George Nathan Associates screenprinted wood sign, featuring the theme, ‘If you drink, don’t drive.’ The sign depicts a scene of an accident with a horse and wagon; the horse is bucking, the driver is laboring to rise from the ground and a woman has been thrown from the wagon. A somber individual admonishes the viewer and broken items are strewn on the ground. Two riders in the background look on. The scene is screen printed onto two planks of pine, which have been painted black and crackle finished at the edges of the image. George Nathan Associates, Providence, Rhode Island were popular decor makers, known for home decor items in wood. It is marked to the verso with the George Nathan stamp and the item number ‘P252.’ Ready to hang.
