Art Deco Style Pottery and Glass Duo
Item Details
An Art Deco style pottery and glass duo. The set includes a 1930’s black matte glazed, lidded biscuit jar with a woven bamboo handle with a motif of brightly colored Chinese lanterns and bamboo leaves. The jar is marked Crown Ducal Ware England to the underside. Crown Ducal ware came from the factory of A. G. Richardson Co. Ltd., and are strictly 20th century, with the majority of their popular wares being produced from 1925 to 1950. A piece from this pattern appears on the cover of the book, A Study of A. G. Richardson & Co. Ltd.’s Crown Ducal Ware, 1915-1940 by Gerrard Shaw. There is also an unmarked hand-blown, vivid orange art glass vessel with black handles and a black rim from the same period.
Condition
There is a hairline crack near the base of one handle
