Item Details
A pair of decorative teapots. One teapot from Arthur Wood of England features beautifully applied gold paint embellishments to the handle, spout, and lattice design along the vessel and lid. White, grey, and green coloring appear to a floral motif on the vessel and the lid. The underside is marked ‘Arthur Wood England’ in green ink with gold paint ‘5149.’ An incised mark ‘Antique’ is also to the underside. The second teapot features notable English Nobles and historical figures, pattern 4442 produced by Sadler. The figures include Queen Elizabeth I, Sir Walter Raleigh, Sir Frances Drake, Robert Dudley, Lord Burghley, Earl of Leicester, and Lord High Treasurer. The lid of the pot commemorates the the ‘Fighting of the Spanish Armada 1588.’
