An original mixed media oil pastel drawing over watercolor, on wove paper with exposed deckled edges, signed indecipherably by the artist to the lower right. The image depicts a gestural, sepia tone watercolor ground, upon which a floating headshot of a man’s face is rendered in earth red. The face is vaguely distinguishable; the eyes hide in shadowy caves and the features fade into an ambiguous, chaotic space surrounding the head. Artist signature is signed to the lower right. This compelling drawing is mounted above mauve mat, under glass, in a narrow wood frame with a natural dark finish.
