Hand Painted Porcelain Plaque
Item Details
A gorgeous hand painted porcelain medallion, by a well trained and skilled artist, depicting Judith, having cut the head off of Holofernes, holding his head in her right hand, her sword in her left, richly attired in brocade, with a loosely fitting blouse. An exceptionally well rendered piece, housed in a more contemporary giltwood molding frame with brown velveteen inset.
Condition
Good, unfortunately drymounted to the backing board. We were unable to remove the back for fear of cracking the medallion, the maker and any possible artists marks are left unknown. The medallion was also coated with a varnish at some point.
