1965 5 Deutsche Mark

Item Details

A 5 Deutsche Mark, first series coin dated 1965. The piece was designed by Albert Holl, Schwäbisch Gmünd and features a German eagle to the reverse. The observer includes the denomination above date and the text ‘EINIGKEIT UND RECHT UND FREIHEIT’ translating to ‘Unity, Justice and Freedom.’ The coin was withdrawn from circulation during August 1975. Metal content: 62.5% silver and 37.5% copper. Diameter: 29mm. Weight: 11.2 grams (typical weight of uncirculated coin). Circulated; good overall condition.
