A set of three unframed offset lithographs after watercolors of Charleston landmarks by Amelia Rose Smith. The prints are titled South Battery, The Four Corners of Law, and The Pirates House. The Four Corners of Law is a depiction of the intersection of Meeting and Broad Street where the presence of institutions of federal, state, local and ecclesiastical law meet, depicting the United States Post Office, the Charleston County Courthouse, Charleston City Hall and St. Michael’s Episcopal Church. South Battery depicts the grand Meeting Street Inn on Charleston’s Battery with sweeping balconies behind an iron fence on a street lined with ancient live oaks and towering palms. The Pirate’s House depicts a small white bungalow with red shutters and red doors on Church Street where Blackbeard secretly trod the alleyways and was said to have once spent the night. All are signed to the lower left and lower right.
