An offset lithograph reproduction of a 1904 painting by well-listed Cincinnati artist Henry Francois Farny (1847-1916), titled The Song of the Talking Wire. Farny was best-known for his realistic images of American Indians of the Plains region; the original oil painting this is a print of is housed in Cincinnati’s Taft Museum of Art. This image depicts a lone Native American man leaning against a telephone pole as his two horses graze in the snow nearby. This print is signed and dated in-plate to the lower right. It is presented behind glass in a barn wood shadow box-style frame. A wire is attached to the verso for hanging. More information about the artist can be found under Related Links.
Condition
-light surface damage across frame; it is unclear what is intentional because of its “rustic” style and what is not.
