A fine antique continental tole painted tray with deftly rendered gilt stenciling and charming German or Austrian painted landscape with shops, a horse drawn cart, and hills. Circa mid-19th century tray presented with a matte black background. Tray has a red painted back. A fine example.
Condition
Some paint loss, consistent with use and age.
