Capt. James Stockdale POW Copper Bracelet

Item Details

A Captain James Stockdale POW copper bracelet. This bracelet comes from a movement in the early 1970s to wear the names of soldiers captured or missing in action during the Vietnam War. The wearers of the bracelet would vow to wear it until the soldier returned home or their remains were found. Captain James Stockdale was the highest-ranking naval officer held as a POW for seven, long years in North Vietnam. He later became the Vice Presidential running mate of Ross Perot in 1992. This bracelet is marked ‘9-65’ which signifies the month and year he became a POW.
