Antique "Across the Continent" Lithograph by Currier and Ives

An antique offset hand-colored lithograph Across the Continent: Westward the Course of Empire Takes its Way, published in 1868, drawn by F.F. (Flora Bond) Palmer (1812-1876), a female illustrator. In the left corner, ‘J.M. Ives Del-O’. Text in the middle of the lithograph reads, ‘Entered According to Act of Congress in the Year AD 1868 by Currier & Ives in the Clerks Office of the District Court of the United States for the Southern District of New York’. Palmer’s name is in the bottom right corner. Under the title, ‘Lith. & Pub. by N. Currier, 152 Nassau St., N.Y.’. The print is framed in gold under glass, matted in beige with a wire hanger on the back.

Condition

Some discoloration of the paper, paint missing from the frame.
