Antique Oil on Canvas Painting of English Hunting Party

Item Details

An original antique oil on canvas painting from around 1910. The large painting depicts an English hunting party. Several men in red and white jackets sit on horseback overseeing a large pack of hunting dogs. They party stands on the side of a hill in a foggy landscape covered in tall pine trees. The painting is signed in black paint in the lower right; it appears to read ‘Ron Bognel.’ The painting is presented in a wide wooden frame with linen and gilt trim. A wire is attached to the verso for hanging.

Condition

-cracking across painting’s surface, particularly in sky. Paint has begun to chip away in one small patch near left edge of painting. Light scratching across frame. Linen trim is very discolored with age.
