Trio of Framed Vintage Currier & Ives Hand Colored Lithographs
Item Details
A trio of vintage framed Currier & Ives hand colored lithographs. The first lithograph is ‘GERTRUDE’ featuring a young bride. The second lithograph is ‘Clara’ featuring a portrait of a young lady. The ‘Clara’ lithograph is marked at the bottom ‘Published By Currier & Ives 152 Nassau St. New York.’ The third print title is is illegible but features a young married couple with their baby sitting on the father’s knee. All three lithographs are framed under glass with a wire hanger on the back of the frame.
Condition
The color on the lithographs has faded over time. The “Clara” lithograph has browning in the top left-hand corner along with cracking in the paper. The “GERTRUDE” lithograph has a small hole at top center and fading of the ink at the bottom of the lithograph. The third print has a small hole at the top center of lithograph, staining and fading of the ink at the bottom of the lithograph. All three frames have some scratches.
