Peter Parnell Limited Edition Serigraph "Noah's Ark"

A limited edition serigraph titled Noah’s Ark by American illustrator Peter Parnall (b. 1936). Parnell was raised in the Mohave Dessert and felt passionate about the natural world from a very early age. He attended both Cornell and Pratt Universities before going on to author over 80 books and become an illustrator and artist. Concerning his artwork, he is renowned for his skillful use of negative space to place emphasis on his images which have a Japanese woodcut quality. For this work Parnall uses the images of 168 animals to create the image of Noah’s Ark with giraffes at each end. Each animal is identified on a ’Who’s Who’ list affixed to the reverse. It is numbered ‘248/2500’ and signed in pencil to the lower right. Presented in a thin black metal frame with thick white matting; ready to hang.
