WWII Filipino Kampilan Sword
Item Details
A WWII Filipino style sword. This sword dates at least to World War II if not earlier. It was retrieved from the Philippines by a U.S. soldier during World War II. Sword hilt, guard, and handle are ornately carved wood and a small rope is wrapped around the handle. Kampilan swords have their origin in the Philippine Archipelago. The bifurcated hilt is believed to represent a mythical creature with its mouth opened. They are known for their characteristic single edged tapered blade. The blade measures 26.75 inches long and the handle is 11 inches long.
Condition
Sword has age wear, rust, and tarnish from age.
