Item Details
An original oil painting on canvas by Alexander Raymond Katz (1895-1974). Katz was born in Kassa, Hungary and came to the United States in 1909 where his first name, Sandor, was anglicized to Alexander. Katz is known for his murals and posters particularly the mural for the 1933 Century of Progress exposition in Chicago. Using a wide variety of colors Katz creates the image of figures on docked sailboats. The artist has signed ‘Sandor’ in the lower left corner. The painting is presented within a gold tone frame.
Condition
The canvas has a repaired tear in the upper right corner.
