An original oil on canvas painting by mid twentieth century Detroit artist, Matthew Lasinski (1919-2004) who was an active member of the Detroit Artist Market in the 1950’s. Signed to the lower right hand corner. The artist has delivered a culinary creation of epic proportions. Though this painting is small it packs a wallop that’ll leave the salty taste of sardines on your palette every time you glance at it. The viewer is entreated to a pair of sardines, laid out on wrapping paper, near a plate of crackers with which they are about to be enjoyed. The painting reflects a skilled hand and is presented in a an antique frame with faded gilt.
Condition
Good, considering its age this painting is in great shape. Frame has a few missing pieces of gesso.
