Item Details

A pair of unframed 19th century steel engravings of American landmarks. The first is an 1856 engraving by Archer & Boilly after a drawing by English-American artist William Goodacre (1803-1883), titled Battle Monument, Baltimore. It depicts The Battle Monument in Baltimore, which was created to honor those who died during the Battle of Baltimore in the Ware of 1812. The second piece is a 19th century print by American printer Joseph Andrews (1806-1873) after a drawing by English-American artist Charles Burton (1819-1842) titled The Race Bridge Fairmount Water Works, Philadelphia. The image depicts a now non-existent stone bridge in Philadelphia. Both prints have a thin black border printed around them and feature the artists’ names and titles in the lower margin.
