A beautiful Alice Balterman decoupage jewelry chest and music box. This wood box is decoupaged with scenes from the Roman and Medieval eras including those related to religion, the countryside, musicians and high society figures in their palaces. Box plays the song ‘The Entertainer’ by Scott Joplin which was played as the theme song in the 1973 movie, ‘The Sting.’ This piece comes with multiple storage compartments with one seen to the bottom and three hidden behind the double doors. Artist signature is seen to the base in pen. Balterman was a Cincinnati artist known for her decoupage and collage artworks. Some of her pieces were selected for settings in the movie ‘Little Man Tate’ with Jodie Foster.

Light wear consistent withe age and use including light wear to paper in a few small areas.
