Georges Briard "Victorian Garden" Dinnerware
Item Details
A set of discontinued Georges Briard Victorian Garden dinnerware. This lovely set has transferware images of four traditionally Victorian flowers on the pieces, including Texas Bluebonnet, Cyclamen, Corn Marigold, and Bird’s-Foot Violet. Each piece also has a pattern of bright summer-green leaves and gold enameled rims, with the exception of the microwavable/oven-proof lidded oval casserole; each piece has a green and gold scalloped rim. The set includes four tall coffee mugs, fifteen tea cups and fifteen saucers, twelve salad plates, eleven soup/pasta bowls, twelve dinner plates, a creamer and sugar set, the large lidded casserole, two chop/charger plates, and one large, rectangular serving platter. A very striking set of tableware, with the ‘From the Private Collection of George Briard’ signature and the name of the flower depicted, or Victorian Garden.
Condition
There is some minor wear consistent with use and age. One soup/pasta bowl has a chip to the rim, as does one of the dinner plates.
