An Auguste Moreau bronze Cupid, this is a bronze recast of Cupid, after the work of sculpture Auguste Moreau (French, 1834-1917). Auguste Moreau was the son of the famous French sculptor Jean Baptiste Moreau, whom focused on sculpture, painting and drafting and is recognized for his Art Deco style figural work. The later recast of the Cupid bronze sculpture depicts a seated young cherub, Cupid in the round, inspecting his bow. The artist’s signature is cast in the bronze base and mounted to the polished green marble base.
