Drop Leaf Lyre Duncan Phyfe Table

A Duncan Phyfe style drop leaf table is mahogany wood, circa 1920’2-1930’s. The rectangular tabletop is flanked by two 11’ inch drop leaves and is supported by a pair of curved leaf supports to each leaf. The top sits on a pair of lyre shaped shaped columns with reeded splayed legs joined by a turned stretcher brass lion’s paw foot sabots on brass wheels. The table has a drawer to one end which is a lined flatware drawer that runs the length of the table. The other end is a faux drawer that is identical to the real drawer. The drawer has antiqued brass hardware with bail rings over rosettes, reeding to the sides, and hand cut dovetailed joints.
