Item Details

A pair of reproduction Jacques Gautier cast iron statues of Don Quixote and Mephistopheles. Russian copy stamped in Cyrillic CCCP (USSR) 1973 on the bottom of the base. Modeled after the 19th century bronze original by the artist. Depicts a stylized armor-clad Don Quixote, one hand raised with the other holding a book, and Mephistopheles wrapped in a cloak. Fine details to both pieces, featuring detail to folds to the fabric. Signed J. Gautier on the base.

Condition

A small amount of rust.
