Both books were published by Dodd, Mead and Company, New York. They are bound in green with gilt decorations on the spines and front covers. Also included is the book Famous Paintings of the World: A Collection of Photographic Reproductions of Great Modern MasterpeiecesFine Art Publishing Company, New York, 1894.

Condition ranges from good to poor based on age and usage: foxing; fading; wear to front covers; loose bindings; pencil markings. One book has peeling to the cover that has become detached from the text pages and has several loose pages. This book has been repaired with white tape. It would benefit from professional repair.
