Two Falconbridge Posters

A pair of Theo Dimson, Falconbridge off-set lithograph art posters, one signed in ink, ‘Theo Dimson’, lower right-hand corner, having ‘Nickel Crowns’ featured at the top of the falcon image. The other has ‘Ferro Cones’ at the top of the poster. Each are presented in black metal frames.
Theo Dimson (1924-2012) was a Toronto designer, who’s firm was prolific for composing flamboyant graphic Art Deco style advertising art for Falconbridge Nickel of Sudbury. As an advertising gimmick, Falconbridge promised an autographed poster to anyone who wrote to the company. Dimson signed about 15,000 posters. He also created posters for Hollywood films, such as Moonstruck (Cher), Agnes of God (Jane Fonda) and In County (Bruce Willis). In 2010, a collection of his acclaimed theatre posters were exhibited at Toronto’s Theatre Museum Canada.
