Item Details
A signed limited edition offset lithograph after a work titled Sacred Ground by Bev Doolittle (1947- ). The piece is signed in pencil and in plate to the lower right, and is numbered ‘20431/69996’. It is presented under double matting and glass in a wood frame with double wire hang to verso.
Doolittle was born and raised in California where she attended the prestigious Art Center College of Design in LA. She is often called a ‘camouflage artist’ because the viewer must spend some time observing to notice the Native Americans on horseback carefully and successfully camouflaged among the trees. Doolittle said, ‘I use camouflage to slow down the storytelling in a painting. But my messages about our wilderness and native peoples are never hidden.’
