A Salvador Dali Gala Contemplating the Mediterranean Sea Which at Twenty Meters Becomes the Portrait of Abraham Lincoln (Homage to Rothko limited edition embossed lithograph. Numbered 30/200 in pencil on lower left side. Title is pencilled on lower right side. Dali used his favorite female figure, Gala, and painted her from behind as she gazes out towards the sea. At the top of the painting is a crucifix scene and we see the top of Christ’s head. Toward Gala’s feet is an image of Abraham Lincoln. Part of the woman’s body is embossed as well as the crucifix image. When you stand far enough away, the entire image becomes the head of Abraham Lincoln (see photo). Matted in off-white, this print has a simple gold toned frame.
