An original ‘Letterman’ oil painting on canvas. “Letterman” paintings were manufactured in the 1970s by screen-printing oil paints onto canvases, and were sold in JCPenney’s across the United States. Letterman is not an actual artist- it is just a name attributed to these pieces, and have since become a collectible group of artworks. This graphic painting depicts spindly brown trees silhouetted against a glowing yellow background. ‘Letterman’ is printed in the lower left corner of the canvas. This unique piece of art history is presented in a simple wooden frame with plastic gilt trim. Sawtooth hangers are attached to the verso for hanging.
Condition
-light accretion on surface of canvas. Damage across the frame, especially on corners.
