Antique Pathex Projector
Item Details
An antique gem of a piece, a Pathex silent movie projector. Pathex, producers of ‘Pathe News,’ was the subsidiary name for Pathex Exchange, which introduced this 9.5mm silent movie projector in 1925, competing directly with Kodak. Kodak, however, had the upper hand in technology when it introduced 16mm film, and Pathex only lasted seven years. The projector is of painted, rolled steel, and has the original Pathex eagle logo medallion affixed to one side. It is all original parts and cloth-covered cord. See the links here for a video example of the projection and a 1926 advertisement for the projector.
