Vintage Supertone Five String Banjo

Item Details

A vintage Supertone five string banjo with ’ style Ragtime King Number 509’ handwritten on the label, sold by Sears, Roebuck. There is a signature written in pencil on the head of the banjo, ‘Chubby Parker.’ Sears sold a number of banjos through its mail order catalogues over the years and it is likely that at least part of the Supertone instruments were produced by Lange.

Condition

One tightening nut is broken, one has been replaced, and two of the head clamps are loose.
