Limited Edition John Ruthven Print "Cardinals"

A limited edition offset lithograph after well listed and renown Cincinnati wildlife artist John Ruthven (1924), titled Cardinals (Richmondena cardinalis). The image depicts an airborne female cardinal coasting by a male cardinal perched on a dried milkweed branch in the late autumn. Title and artist signature printed in plate in bottom margin. Artist has signed print in pencil to bottom left margin and marked this print edition 565 of 950. Set behind neutral-colored mat under glass and presented in a beveled wood frame with gilt finish. A paper sleeve to the verso contains the original folio for the print. Ruthven is an internationally acknowledged wildlife artist who uses the same techniques as Audubon, and is frequently considered the 20th century Audubon.

Condition

- some debris trapped under the glass. Finish of frame is damaged along edges and on corners.
