An original mid 20th century impasto oil on canvas painting by Jean Medina. The painting depicts a cabin sitting along the banks of a river in a forested area. This highly textured piece is painted with small loose brushstrokes, making it seem as through the whole forest is alive and in motion. In areas, the artist has layered the paint up to half an inch thick. The piece is signed in brown paint in the lower left corner. This beautiful painting is presented in an ornate gilt frame with tan canvas trim. A wire is attached to the verso for hanging.

Condition

-light surface damage across the frame, particularly in the corners. canvas trim of the frame is discolored. slight accretion on surface of the painting itself.
