RCA Victor Model 143 Tombstone Radio

Item Details

An RCA Victor Model 143 tombstone radio from the later half of 1934 with a mahogany veneer cabinet. Crafted in the Art Deco style, this piece has five knobs for tuning and volume, a circular tuning dial under glass on the front and fabric speaker covering behind a cutwork front. The cabinet has reeded columns to either side of the speaker and tuning dial. The back of the cabinet is open and it is tagged to the inside with the maker’s label, illustrating the location of the ‘Radiotron’ tubes.

Condition

- fair, chip in mahogany veneer above the speaker, normal wear and aging.
