A 1947 chromolithograph print of Minnesotan artist Adolf Dehn’s (1895-1968) watercolor painting titled The Ohio River at Cincinnati. Dehn was a master lithographer and renowned watercolor artist, best-known for capturing the American countryside and lifestyle. This image depicts the hills and bridges in Cincinnati in the early 20th century, before the river was dammed to form the modern day landscape. Several figures float across the rippling water in a small boat, and brightly colored buildings dot the lush green hill rising behind the river. Trains pass over the water on the intricate suspension bridge, and several river boats float along the shore. The piece is not signed by the artist, but stickers on the verso reveal information about the piece and artist. This beautiful landscape is housed behind glass in a rustic white frame. -paper is warped and yellowed, consistent with age. slight surface damage across the glass and frame.
