Item Details
A carved wooden Dan (Gio) mask from the North-Eastern Region of Liberia. The mask was brought to this country in 1973. It has an elongated face with tubular eyes and a simple nose with nostrils. The face shape is ovular, perpahs Bassan, with an articulated jaw with many teeth. The face is devoid of attachments or adornments.
Condition
The lower jaw is attached with twine.
