Antique Six-Piece Oak Barrister Secretary Desk

An antique, six-piece, oak barrister secretary desk. The top portion features a lead glass-front cabinet that flips up and slides back, over a drop front middle section that opens down to a writing surface with organization drawers, with a bottom portion that contains a glass front cabinet that also flips up and retracts. Finally, nine document drawers have hand-cut dovetailing and hinged metal document holders. The plinth and hood are separate pieces, as well. It sits on claw front feet. A barrister bookcase is meant for easy transportation, as each section can be separately removed and carried. The glass fronts keep books from accumulating dust. The piece seen here is unique in its combination of a barrister bookcase with a secretary desk. Key included for the desk lock.
