Hewitt Jackson Original Signed Clipper Ship & Two Nautical Prints
Item Details
A selection of three nautical themed artwork pieces. There is an original oil on canvas by listed artist Hewitt Jackson (American, 1914-2007) featuring a clipper ship in choppy water, blue skies in the background, signed ‘Jackson’ to the lower right-hand side, mounted in a black composite frame. Jackson is known for his detailed ship drawings, knowledge gained from his trips to sea beginning at age twelve; adventures that led him to meet the acquaintance of prominent artists and authors such as John Steinbeck and Norman Rockwell. His works can be admired in many maritime collections. Also included, two coordinating prints of sailboats. Each provides a different view of white sail sailboats navigating the water, one with a lighthouse; both in same hunter green and tan frames. All pieces are ready to hang.
