Porcelain Statuette of Chairman Mao ZeDong

A bisque statuette of Chairman Mao ZeDong (1893-1976). Bisque figure features a a statue of Chinese Communist Party Leader, Chairman Mao standing with his hands behind his back on a pedestal. Everything but Mao’s head and hands are covered in a pale pink glaze. On the pedestal, the Chinese characters read, ‘Serve the People’ which originated from Mao’s speech in 1944, titled, ‘Serve the People’ and became a slogan for many Asian movements. The statuette is marked to the underside.
