Early 18th Century Tavern Scene on Panel
Item Details
An anonymous early 18th century original oil painting on panel board depicting a naive tavern scene. Flemish in style, two figures seated upon wooden barrels indulge themselves with a third figure standing to their right. The panel is housed in a decorative beveled wood frame with a bronze tone finish. A tag to the verso reads ‘23’. The wooden frame is pencil marked appearing to read, ‘Teniers’.
Condition
- painting has notable abrasions and paint loss. The frame has chips to applique throughout.
