1879 Yorkshire Fine Art and Industrial Exhibition Bronze Medal
Item Details
An 1879 Yorkshire Fine Art and Industrial Exhibition bronze medallion designed by medallist Thomas Ottley of Birmingham, England. The obverse features Guildhall that held the exhibition in York designed by architect Edward Taylor, which now houses the York City Art Gallery. Underneath it reads ‘York 1879, Ottley Medallist Birm’. The reverse features a laurel wreath framing the engraved recipients name ‘Awarded to W. Bedford’ and along the rim reads ‘Yorkshire Fine Art and Industrial Exhibition’. Stored in an original Thomas Ottley presentation case.
