Howard Fain Signed Prints

A pair of Howard Fain signed prints, and a small wood mounted Fain print. Howard Fain(1934-2007) was a Kentucky artist from Jessamine County, Ky. These are painted pen and ink drawings, and are from his ‘Pioneer Wheels of Progress’ series. The first print is titled ‘Iron Horse’, and is a drawing of a steam engine and wooden water tower, and painted with a blue hue. The print is signed by pencil in the lower right corner, and is print number 337 of 500. In the lower left corner it reads ‘copyright Howard Fain Prints 1970’. In the upper right corner it reads ‘plate V’. On the back of the print is a small pamphlet on the print, published by Howard Fain prints, Nicholasville, Ky. The second print is titled ‘Windmill’, and is a drawing of a wooden windmill and old barn, painted with a brown hue. This print is signed in the bottom right corner in pencil, and is print number 337 of 500 as well. In the lower left corner it reads ‘copyright Howard Fain Prints 1969’. In the upper right it reads ‘plate IV’. On the back of this print is a pamphlet with a poem by Howard Fain entitled ‘Windmill’, and is published by Howard Fain prints, Nicholasville, Ky. Both prints are double matted, with a mottled white outer print and golden inner print, and are mounted under glass in a gold leaf wooden frame. The small wood mounted pen and ink print has burned edges, is titled ‘Lyne School-1951’, and is copyrighted 1970. The wood is brown stained pine, has a beveled edge, and has a small brass swing hanger at the top.

Condition

One frame has a few scratches in it.
