An original Dutch Golden Age oil on panel portrait painting of a Dutch nobleman in the style of Cornelis van der Voort, dated 1612. The man has short, intricately painted hair, with a long mustache and chin hair. He wears black with exquisite stitching and decorative patterns throughout the fabric, with an Elizabethan collar. The lace trim of his sleeves and handkerchief have been painted with delicate precision. A coat of arms is painted to the upper right corner featuring a boot and flame-blade sword.
Condition
Abrasions throughout with some paint loss, especially at the joints of panels. Three panels have been joined. Evidence of inpainting around face.
