WWII-Era Military Foot Locker
Item Details
A World War II-era military foot locker. The foot locker is in standard issue military green with black metal bands and rivets to the corners and edges. The lid swings upward to open on black metal hinges. It has a black metal locking clasp to the front and double-strap leather handles affixed to the sides. The interior is papered. It is marked with a sticker to the top, ‘A.D.’ and has a full military APO delivery address stenciled to the exterior of the lid, in black ink/paint, which reads in part, ‘Officer Karl Sruhf(?) / Ft Belvior, VA.’ There is also a sticker to the lis which has a date of ‘8/12(?)/49.’
Condition
The case has been through its paces and has wear consistent with age and use. The interior papers is torn and deteriorating; the key for the locking clasp to the front is missing.
