An original oil and acrylic on canvas by listed Italian painter Giovanni Camprio (1915-1999). As a child Camprio moved to Naples with his family, where he fell in love with Naples Harbor and the surrounding area. By his teens he had started painting, using the harbor and sea as his inspiration. His use of the palette knife in his works is distinctive of his style, as is his color palette that includes bright pops of color to items such as flowers and plants. This piece depicts houses along the Gulf Of Naples, with mountains rising in the background. Camprio’s typical jolts of bright color can be found in the native flowers and plants. This piece is presented in wooden multi-linear polychrome frame with a linen mat.
