Collection of Lace Edged Plates
Item Details
A collection of beautiful decorative plates with openwork accents, gilt edges a decorative trim. Each of the six plates has a somewhat hexagonal decorative field to the center, in which a different type of fruit is painted in a botanical style: peach, blueberry, grape, cherry, pear, and strawberry. The painting has a delicate touch. Surrounding each fruit display is a stylized motif of leaves and scrollwork highlighting the delicate open lace-like cutouts to the edge of each plate. The plates are illegibly signed to the bases.
Condition
- to fair. The gilding is in various states of wear on each plate.
