Item Details

A circa 1830s English black basalt stoneware ‘bachelors’ or single cup teapot. The teapot is comprised of a stout round body with curved handle, shaped spout and lid with a spaniel finial. Along the body are high relief scrollwork and foliate detail. The teapot is glazed in a black basalt or Egyptian black high gloss glaze. Unmarked.

Condition

- good to fair. Small chips to lid interior.
