Circa 1900s Holtzman and Sons Mahogany Piano Stool

An antique Victorian-era mahogany swivel piano stool from H Holtzman and Sons of Columbus, Ohio. This adjustable stool has a hand carved red-stained hardwood seat mounted on a swivel post. The swivel post threads into a dark stained mahogany spindle-turned center post, framed with four dark stained mahogany spindle-turned legs with brass talon feet and glass orbs. The mounting bracket for the post is stamped H. Holtzman and Sons, Columbus, O, dating this piece to post 1893 when the company was moved there by founder Henry Holtzman. The company sustained a growing reputation for crafting piano stools and piano covers from the late 19th-Century to the first part of the 20th-Century.
