Contents are ‘Mackinac Register of Baptisms and Interments, 1695-1821’; ‘A Wisconsin Fur-Trader’s Journal, 1804-05’; ‘The Fur Trade on the Upper Lakes, 1778-1815’; and ‘The Fur-Trade in Wisconsin, 1815-1817.’ Next is ‘Forty Years a Fur Trader: The Personal Narrative of Charles Larpenteur 1833-1872,’ edited and annotated by Elliot Coues. Limited edition reprint, this edition 1962, Ross & Haines, Inc. Minneapolis, MN. Finally, ‘The Fur Trade Revisted’ subtitled ‘Selected Papers of the Sixth North American Fur Trade Conference, Mackinac Island, Michigan, 1991.’ Published East Lansing and Mackinac Island: Michigan State University Press and Mackinac State Historic Parks, 1994. All are cloth-bound hardcover books.

Condition

Dust jacket on “Forty Years” is crumbling, while “The Fur Trade Revisited” dj is in good condition. The Wisconsin book has cracked hinges but text block is intact. Boards have bumped corners and spine has creased edges. “Forty Years” boards also have bumped corners. “Fur Trade Revisted” has cloth and lettering that is clean and bright. All have pencil marks to front flyleaf.
