Circa 1940s Ed. Roos 'Sweetheart' Cedar Chest

A ‘Sweetheart’ cedar chest manufactured by Ed. Roos in Forest Park, IL, circa 1940s. Chest features a single drawer at the base with dovetail joinery. Lid of furniture reveals cedar lined chest with original advertisement stapled to patented ‘Sealtite Lid.’ Exterior of chest is lined with a mahogany veneer and features bronze-toned drawer pull handles. Key is stored in original envelope also stapled to chest’s interior lid. Manufacturer’s sticker can be found on the underside of the furniture, Style No. 5917 and Serial No. 315885.

Condition

Lid of chest has various scuffs and a visible ring mark at one corner. Chipped veneer at base.
