Pair of W. King Ambler Prints
Item Details
A pair of W. King Ambler prints of ‘Caleb’ and ‘Verity’. ‘Caleb’ depicts a young boy with a pageboy haircut standing beside a dog with an open book in his hand. Underneath is the title, surrounded by the text: ‘age 9 yrs. 2. mos’ and ‘taken Aug. 5. 1838’. The other print, ‘Verity’, depics a young girl with pigtails in a white and green dress with a basket of cherries in her left hand. On either side of the title are the words ‘age 8 yrs. 9 mos.’ and ‘taken Aug. 4. 1838’. The prints both sit behind glass within a wooden laminate frame. The back of each print bears a label that reads: ‘Styled for: Francis Stone Interiors – Registered No. 8510-699’
Condition
The backing on “Caleb” is mildly torn.
